Sorry we disagree, but you see, two of four of the writers on this site are from/live in Chicago. To us all offerings in Austin suck. And not because it's not deep dish (we prefer the thin crust), but just because they are, well, bad. We chose Frank And Angies cause we like the environment, it's downtown (you don't have to walk to SoCo or the Drag). You'll notice we said to avoid pizza all the way. Have a great fest! That is by far the worst place in Austin for Pizza. If i had to rank the top 3: 3. Austins Pizza 2. Mellow Mushroom 1. Homeslice on S. Congress Homeslice is easily the best pizza place in Austin and you can't beat the atmosphere, slices by the window, beer and wine to-go AND the fact that they have bands playing all day during SXSW. Sorry guys, i've never heard ANYONE recommend Frank and Angies, in fact on Yelp.com it has 3.5 stars with its only benefit being on 6th. Compared to Homeslices 4.5 stars and S. Congress location i don't think frank and angies is even in the same league. A big miss on the pizza pic =( How can you put Frank and Angies as a pick for pizza in Austin!!! Homeslice is easily the best pizza place in Austin and you can’t beat the atmosphere, slices by the window, beer and wine to-go AND the fact that they have bands playing all day during SXSW.
